About

Kent Roe is a District 4 Representative to the SD State Legislature for 2025-2026. He was born and raised in Hazel, SD, and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences from South Dakota State University. He has been a small business owner for over 30 years, starting out as a farmer. After moving out of farming, he was an owner/operator and owner of a trucking company. In 2021, he sold his trucking company and began working toward becoming a Certified General Appraiser, earning his license in 2024. He appraises ag land full time. What spare time he has goes reading, learning, and traveling with his wife of almost 20 years, Melissa. He has two grown children, five grandchildren, and four grand-dogs.
